Overview of our services

The Administration and General Services (AGS) Group is a trusted partner delivering administrative, logistical, and coordination services to support EP Members, Groups, Management, as well as the RCS sector, while streamlining departmental processes and space management at every level and beyond.


Departmental Secretariat
Provides central administrative support to the EP Department and the RCS Sector. The Secretariat supports members of the personnel, group secretariats and management on administrative procedures, personnel matters and departmental processes.

Experiments and Collaborations Secretariats
The secretariat serves as central contact point for collaborators, visitors and students coordinating activities and ensuring smooth organisational, administrative and financial support. It facilitates processes, provides guidance and ensures access to the necessary information and procedures.

Support Groups Secretariats
The secretariat provides administrative and organisational support to the leadership and members of the  EP support groups coordinating technical requests and ensuring the efficient management of purchasing, contracts, supplier relations, invoicing and related databases to maintain smooth operational continuity.

Provides services to all EP members related to space management (allocation and monitoring of offices, laboratories, and workshops, as well as the administration of Burotel and Labotel), logistics (management of central storage facilities), and infrastructure (coordination of renovation and infrastructure projects for technical and office spaces). The section also oversees services related to keys, furniture, official vehicles, mission orders, and tunnel transit between CERN sites. In addition, it handles shipping requests and maintains the inventory of EP mobile assets.

Provides support services to CERN Users, Cooperation Associates, and Visiting Scientists by welcoming and registering them upon arrival. Our team manages electronic requests to register, modify, or extend their contracts, and oversees the processing of relevant Host State documents. It helps newcomers to get settled in the area and reports to the Advisory Committee of CERN Users, ACCU.

Together with the larger experiment secretariats, the Users Office is responsible for the maintenance of the data in the Grey Book, the database of the research programme at CERN.

Provides administrative support to the CERN Scientific Committees and their subordinate bodies, and assistance to their Chairpersons, Scientific Secretaries and members. It coordinates the preparation and distribution of all documents related to the meetings, including Agenda, Minutes, Proposals, Letters of Intent, TDRs and Status Reports

Provides administrative support to the official CERN Schools of High Energy Physics, as well as to some Instrumentation Schools. All Organising Committees of these schools have at least one member of AGS

Provides administrative support to organizers of EP and IT Data Science Seminars, as well as CERN Colloquia.
